Thank You, Veterans

The Morris American Legion and the 103rd Infantry Division Association is still looking for descendants of Lew Y. June after all these years, seeking aid in honoring the sacrifice he made on a cold winter night near Niederbron, France in January 1945.

The upstairs of the Morris American Legion Post 294 at 212 W. Washington St. is home to the Veterans Legacy Center, a museum dedicated to “telling, honoring and educating.”

In her daily life, Morris resident Brooke Anderson wears many hats — wife to husband Matt, mother to the couple’s two children and participation in three disparate local entrepreneurial efforts.

There's a need for people to drive patients who can't drive themselves to their appointments, a need that's met with the help of many volunteers who work with Morris Hospital.
